The apostle John said, “What manner of love the Father has bestowed upon us that we should be called the children of God.” (I John 3:1) But does our Lord merely refer to us as His children because He loves us like His children, or might He also intend there to be a family resemblance? We are told mankind was made in God’s image, yet because of the depravity of the human heart, the law written on stone only allowed man to discover how far his sin had distanced him from whom we are made to be. 

Christ justifies us by His atoning sacrifice for our sins and His righteousness is imputed to us, but not imparted to us. Even after we are born again, the capacity to sin dwells deep in us. Scriptures teach our gracious heavenly Father has a plan to mold His born again ones to gain His perspective and to live by His precepts. God gave us the opportunity, as earthen vessels, (II Corinthians 4) to choose to love Him and express His glory through how we live.  

The name Andidi means “ant” in the Ewe language. Proverbs 6:6 tells us, “Consider the ant … and be wise.” This novel/Bible study considers the life of this very real person and how she responded to God’s grace to live wisely. 


God, working in the life of the slave girl, gives us a dramatic example to encourage us to live a life pleasing to Him.

In the first format, each chapter has 20 to 30 questions which goes along with the narrative.  This is for novice Bible students. 



A second format deals with each Wisdom Principle separately and has at least 20 questions regarding that particular principle. This is primarily for the more experienced Bible student. 

The apostle Paul said, “I bear on my body the marks of Christ.” (Galatians 6:17) Though the full meaning of our sub-title may not be clear until the end of the novel. Read Exodus 21:1-6; Galatians 6:14-17; Romans 6:4; and Colossians 3: 1-3 to get some insight why we chose it.
